After living between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for 20 years, Tom came south with his family to Tasmania for something different to the big city experience.
Tom’s passion from design started with drawings of his brother’s teddy bears at age 7 and led to a scholarship at the National Art School in Sydney. Since then, he has done just about everything from designer to art director to illustrator across advertising and graphic design. In his own words, Tom goes gaga for typography and loves to explore unusual uses of letters and shapes.
Having taught at the Design Institute of Australia (now Design College Australia), Tom loves to pass on his passion to young designers. He currently teaches night classes in user experience at Foundry in Hobart.
To prove that you can’t switch off a design brain, Tom spends what little free time he has drawing in his journal, working on personal projects and generally experimenting in the field of visual arts.
