Originally from a small town in country South Australia, Kate moved to Tasmania without having ever visited before!
‘I knew I wanted to be here, I had already fallen in love with Tasmania’s stunning natural environment and the diversity of its landscapes’.
Kate studied Podiatry and worked in private practice before deciding that feet weren’t really her thing.
It was her love of Tasmania’s wilderness that led to Kate managing The Wilderness Society Shop before becoming co-director of Tasmanian wilderness gallery, Wild Island Tasmania.
Whilst Kate enjoyed the diversity of the gallery work and was involved in all aspects of its operation it was the ‘black-and-white-ness’ of financial management and bookkeeping that she was drawn to.
Since Kate’s book-keeping epiphany she has worked with a number of small businesses and not-for-profit organisations in setting up financial management systems and in the day to day financial nitty-gritty.
In her spare time, Kate loves finding new places to eat and drink, exploring Tasmania’s wilderness and might just perform in the occasional vintage cabaret.
