CLIENT: Hobart City Council
PROJECT: Mawsons Place Directional Signs
PHOTOS: Jonathan Wherrett
BRIEF: This project responded to the need to direct tourists and locals to key attractions and services in a popular area of Hobart. The three signage blades combine to direct people in six different directions throught Sullivan Cove. Thick steel plate was angle cut and welded to replicate origami-like folds in paper. The folded darts reinforce the directions. The precast concrete bases match the existing curved wall within Mawson Place and are sized to offer a temporary seat to passersby.
