Futago employs three designers each with expertise in different fields. Their skills combine to create a well rounded studio that can cater for almost any design problem. A profile of each staff member is below.
KATE OWEN BEn.Des. BArch. (Hons)
Principal Designer
President of the Tasmanian Council of the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA)

Kate has been self-employed as a graphic designer for over seven years. A graduate of the University of Tasmania with degrees in Environmental Design and Architecture with Honours, Kate brings a breadth of knowledge to design problems. Working in a small capital city, Kate has had the opportunity to work within a range of project types with clents including large government agencies, small start-up businesses, medical organisations, galleries, architecture firms and tourist ventures. Kate’s strengths lie in concept development, designs of an illustrative nature and projects which venture into the realm of the built environment.
DANIEL ZIKA B.OowHo (Hons)
Project Manager and Designer

Daniel adds another dimension to Futago’s multi-disciplinary nature. He joined Futago in 2005 and is responsible for day-to-day management while also being an invaluable member of the design team. Daniel has over 15 years experience as a project manager and lighting designer in arts festivals and theatre across Australia and internationally. His experience strengthens Futago’s capability to manage large design projects. Prior to joining Futago Daniel was the Production Manager for Ten Days on the Island, Tasmania’s multi-million dollar international arts festival, in 2001 and 2003. Daniel’s methodical and planned approach ensures that everything in the studio runs smoothly. His warm and engaging manner enables him to really connect with clients. He brings energy, experience and wonderful workable ideas to every project. Please see attached CV for more detail. Plus he’s a great cook.
JESSICA LILLICO BFA
Graphic Designer

Since completing her undergraduate Fine Arts degree at the University of Tasmania in 2003, Jess has worked as a designer at Duotone Design, UTAS and large Tasmanian agency Red Jelly. This has enabled her to experience very different working environments and clients, from corporate to art-based. Aside from work, Jess finds it important to implement personal projects and is keen to provide platforms for young local creatives. She was co-producer and designer of award-winning street press ‘paperpeople’ and is also co-producer of local maker’s market ‘odd + even.’
REBECCA ADAMCZEWSKI BFA MCV AGDA
Junior Designer

Rebecca studied at the University of Tasmania’s School of Art. She completed her undergraduate Fine Arts degree in 2005, majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in photography. She then went on to do a Master of Visual Communication, which she completed in 2007 with High Distinction. Rebecca’s interests within design include illustration, print and Flash animation. She is highly community focused and runs a local design collective called Crafternoon. She is passionate about graphic design and the handmade.
INGRID BERGER BMA
Junior Designer

Ingrid studied at Waikato Institute of Technology in Hamilton, New Zealand. She graduated with Bachelor of Media Arts, majoring in Graphic design early in 2008. She moved to Hobart, joining Futago as an intern, and later being employed as a Junior Designer. |
