CLIENT: Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery
PROJECT: Archeology Exhibit
PHOTOGRAPHER: Jonathan Wherrett
BRIEF:As a part of the Redevelopment of the Museum, an archeological dig was undertaken. To engage the public in the discoveries and the process, Terroir Architects were commissioned to create a small pavilion that would protect exposed excavations. The box is designed to allow visitors to peer into the dig. Accompanying interpretive graphics add to the experience by identifying the components of the dig. Signage has been laser cut from galvanised metal, and wrapped around the box, to give a feeling of temporary, crates and the idea of something being revealed.
